About SecondDisk

Our story

SecondDisk started with a frustrating moment that’s far too common: a phone dies, and years of photos, contacts and important files vanish with it. The backup tools that existed felt heavy — new accounts to create, subscriptions to manage, and your data locked away on someone else’s servers.

We wanted something simpler. A small Android app that quietly does one job extremely well: take the data you care about and put a copy somewhere you already own and trust — your own email or a USB drive.

What we believe

• Your data is yours. A backup you can’t reach isn’t a backup. SecondDisk sends copies to accounts you control, so you’re never locked out.
• Simple beats clever. Backing up should take three taps, not a tutorial. We hide the complexity so you don’t have to think about it.
• Privacy is the default. We don’t sell your data or mine it for ads. Your photos and contacts go to your own email or USB drive — that’s it.

What SecondDisk does

SecondDisk is an Android app that backs up your photos, contacts and files and saves them to your own email or a USB drive, keeping a record you can view and download. When you switch phones or recover a lost one, your backup is waiting for you.
